The University of Kansas Hospital is giving National Nurses Week a twist this year by including an outreach project called H.E.R.O. (Hospital Employees Reaching Out). They’ll be repairing houses of elderly individuals in the Kansas City area. “This is the first time National Nurses Week has included a project for nurses to give to the community,” says Dennis McCulloch, the hospital’s director of public and governmental relations.
