2012 astrological forecast for nurses

Gemini
Change and growth are in the stars for you in 2012—and this is good because the physicians and your fellow nurses tend to perceive you as rather happy-go-lucky and untroubled, so they don’t take you as seriously as you would like them to. It will be different this year because you’ll become more passionate about your work. As a result, you’ll be given more responsibility and you’ll come to feel more appreciated by the nurses and doctors you work with—even by those hardworking Capricorns who previously didn’t think you had much potential.

As you grow on a professional level, you’ll also feel like becoming more involved in the inner workings of your hospital, clinic or institution. Jump right in and join a committee or board. How about that Patient/Family Advisory Board? Or that Healthcare Ethics Committee? Perhaps your facility’s Nursing Policy and Procedure Manual needs updating and there’s a call for committee volunteers. Say yes!

Watch your spending this year. You may be making good money and enjoying the good life, but you still have to think about your future, so rein in your doling out of money for things you don’t really need. Attend a retirement seminar—no matter how young you are, it’s never too early to attend one of these—and start getting your investment portfolio in order. You can’t nurse forever.

A former medical radiation technologist and elementary school teacher, she realized that no matter what she did, she was drawn to any task that involved writing, so she decided, over a decade ago, to write full-time. Since then, she has written for a variety of magazines and websites including Nursing PRN, National Review of Medicine, University Affairs, Your Health, Education Leaders Today, Today's Parent, Children's Playmate, WeightWatchers.ca and many more. She has written about topics such as asthma, genital herpes, circumcision, teleradiology, body art, learning disabilities and exercise trends, and she absolutely adores the fact that writing—particularly doing the research for the articles she writes—makes her a lifelong learner.
