Your guide to nursing conferences this fall

There’s so much to learn as a nurse. It can feel overwhelming—because it is overwhelming.

The bad news is that there are only 24 hours in each day. The good news is that there are dozens of conferences held each year with the sole purpose of dropping a knowledge bomb on your brain. Bonus: By attending these conferences, nurses can earn all of their annual CEUs in just one or two weekends.

We know you’re busy, so we’ve researched a number of nursing conferences that will be held this fall to help get you started.

AMSN Annual Convention
September 24-27, 2015
Think what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas? For most people that might be true, but nurses will take everything they learn at the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses Annual Convention home to their patients.

AANN Stroke Conference
September 25-26, 2015
If you’re interested in neuroscience and work with patients who have a high risk factor for stroke, this conference in Chicago is a good option.

Emergency Nursing 2015
September 28-October 3, 2015
If you could use a refresh on disaster preparedness and emergency help skills, consider attending this conference in Orlando, Fla. With five days of education including 190 education sessions and more than 200 sponsors and exhibits, this is the Big Kahuna of emergency training.

American Academy of Nursing Fall Conference
October 15-17, 2015
Did you become a nurse to change the world? If so, we’ve found the conference for you. The American Academy of Nursing’s annual policy conference in Washington, D.C., showcases the work nurses are undertaking to drive policy changes that meet the health needs of individuals and populations.

NAHC Annual Meeting
October 28-30, 2015
If you’re a home care and hospice nurse interested in connecting with more than 2,500 of your colleagues to learn and grow, consider the National Association for Home Care & Hospice Annual Meeting in Nashville, Tenn. This two-day event is packed with 90 education sessions, keynote addresses and many networking opportunities.
