When you think about Miss America, you probably think about pageant gowns, glitter and glam.
Well it’s all that — but now let us introduce you to a woman who adds inspiration to the mix, Kelley Johnson (aka Miss Colorado 2015), a nurse who opted to step into the spotlight in her scrubs at this year’s Miss America Pageant to talk about nursing and the patient who changed her forever.
Please check out the video below to catch her inspiring monologue, and to hear Johnson talk about the moment she realized she will never be just a nurse.
Johnson finished as second runner-up in the pageant. What did you think of her monologue? Sound off in the comments below!
Psst! Love her scrubs? Check out the Cherokee Workwear top and pants she’s wearing!
