Scrubs is proud to be linking up with Warriors in Pink, Ford’s campaign to fight breast cancer with stories of hope. One of their “Models of Courage” this year is Cheryl Perkins, a nurse from Detroit, Michigan. Diagnosed in 2003, Cheryl has been cancer-free for 7.5 years now. Learn more about her in her Q&A below:

What do you fear most?
Not being able to see my children grow up.

What is your idea of happiness?
Being at peace with myself and everything around me.

What is your greatest regret?
No regrets, just lessons.

Which talent would you most like to have?
I would love to have a great singing voice (not just in the shower).

What is your current state of mind?
Tired yet determined.

What do you most value in your friends?
Their ears and shoulders to listen and hug me when I need it.

What was your darkest hour?
November 18, 2003, my first day of chemotherapy.

What is your greatest joy?
December 2004 when my oncologist Dr. Philip said that I was in remission.

What is your motto?
Move on, it is just a chapter in the past. But do not close the book, just turn the page.
