WATCH: Our top nurse videos

We love posting videos on Scrubsmag.com, but we know they have to have certain elements to make them work for nurses:
(1) They have to be interesting. You’re too busy for schlock. We get it.
(2) They have to be relatively SHORT (see #1).
(3) If they’re not FUNNY, make ’em USEFUL. If they’re not USEFUL, make ’em FUNNY. The best are a combination of BOTH!

Here are the most watched videos that we’ve posted over the years. We think you’ll agree that, on the whole, they fulfill our three criteria!

UNBELIEVABLE HOSPITAL SCENES FROM TV

We showcase outrageous videos, such as this one from House, MD (in our opinion the worst of all culprits). Just the following one-minute promo shows you more “scenes you’d never see in a hospital” than you could ever imagine, from waking a patient by slamming his cane on the bedside table (0:10) to showing a cleaver to a patient who was told just needed surgery (0:34) to playing video games and having lunch in a comatose patient’s room (0:41) to ogling a female doctor and making crude comments. One has to wonder if anyone like Dr. House actually exists.

See all the scenes we found here!

FOUR SHORT VIDEOS TO HELP NURSES AVOID BURNOUT

New and seasoned nurses are constantly at risk of burn out. Here are four videos to help you identify your current stress levels and get you thinking in new ways about how to tamp out the stress flames before they burn you out. This first informational video, for example, helps nurses identify the signs of stress and burn out.

See all four videos here!

PUMP IT

Paradise Valley Hospital in National City, CA created this video to help nurses fight infection and get your blood flowing. It’s set to The Black Eyed Peas’ “Pump It”. Get it?

HELLO NURSE

We absolutely love Animaniac’s “Hello Nurse”! This endearing 1993 parody definitely says it — the nurse is the (wo)man of the year! See the cartoon where an adorable 7-year-old Animaniac praises the nurse!

THE ANNOYING NURSE

We’ve all worked with someone like this, so we decided to have a laugh about it. We took the world’s most bothersome nurse, put all her traits into one torturous conversation, then turned it into a quick movie. And it’s hilarious to watch.

THE ANNOYING PATIENT

We took all of the most obnoxious things a patient says and we made it into a movie. Have you ever had a patient as bad as this? (Oh, and put your gown on, Sir!!!)
