Sonya and Patrick O’Connor recently tied the knot. But instead of marrying in a church or posh hotel, their ceremony took place in a hospital–the bride is dying of a rare fungus that has no cure.
Says Patrick of their wedding, “I made a promise when we got engaged that I wasn’t going to let her leave the world without her being my wife.” He made good on that promise days before Sonya is to move to a hospice center.
