Does fall inspire you to turn over a new leaf in your scrubs wardrobe? It will when you see the styles and colors that top manufacturers have on offer for 2013. Here are some of our favorite picks for fit, fabric and fashion.

To Everything There Is a Season
In the fall, it’s the season for “Turning Leaves.” That’s the name of this eye-popping print. It looks a little like someone went to town on this textile with a paintball gun. On closer inspection, these sprays of carnations are quite fetching and feminine. The popular colors of red and turquoise for summer are reimagined in a slightly rustier tint to take you into autumn. “Botanical Impressions” offers a similar effect, but with sizzling hot pink for more residual heat.

Pamper Your Pumpkin
Does your hair start to get flighty and full of static electricity when the wind picks up outside? Tame your top with a one-size-fits-all cotton scrubs cap with a drawstring in the back. The inside has a soft terrycloth band for comfort and to wick away sweat. The “Funfetti” fabric looks like the pattern you see if you close your eyes and rub on your eyelids. Go ahead. Try it. We’ll wait.

Relax Into Fall
Pro Flexibles fabric just got more flexible with the addition of a new premium fabric in two-way rayon stretch. The blend eschews the slightly fuller cotton in favor of a poly/rayon/spandex twill for “a soft, silky look that drapes and moves easily.” You can get this fabric in a number of new hues including Caribbean, a rich blue-green that will go well with rust accents.

Dress It Up
Do you remember when the only color available for nurse uniform dresses was white? Maybe you could find something in ceil blue from time to time, but that was about it. Now, you can show up at work in a glamorous deep wine dress that’s got the function of a great fitted scrubs top in a cut that flows to just below the knee. It’s a buttoned-down look that is anything but “uniform.” Enjoy access to three patch pockets, including one with an ID loop and a cell phone compartment. The elbow-length sleeves are perfect as the weather transitions from warm to cool.
