These nurses are doing the Vanna White style of orientation for the new hires. “See this? It is called a patient chart. This will become your very best friend. You’ll love charting just as much as you loved writing in your diary when you were a little girl. It’s full of hopes and dreams and tiny unicorns.” Of course, you know this is a lie. Instead, they should be saying, “This object will come to rule your life. It will haunt you at every shift, interrupting your mealtimes and your break times, crying out to be completed! Fear the chart.”
