This is the restaurant at Hazleton General Hospital in Pennsylvania that was renovated in 2009. It now serves several hundred patrons and patients per day. With its hometown vibe, it’s not the most glamorous makeover on our list. But it was very practical. The whole project took only a couple of weeks doing renovations after hours. Even better, it cost less than $200K. In addition to replacing all the flooring, countertops and tables, the redesign streamlined the checkout process. It’s a boon for nurses who have a short lunch break!
