Strategic Partners, Inc., a leader in the manufacturing and marketing of medical uniforms and medical footwear, including leading brand Cherokee Medical Uniforms, and The DAISY FoundationTM, are pleased to announce the recipients of the inaugural Cherokee Medical Uniforms Nursing Conference Scholarship Program.
The Scholarship Program was developed to support nursing professionals and their career advancement. This annual program provides financial assistance to DAISY Award Honorees who are pursuing continuing education credits to support their licensure, credentialing or overall professional development.
More than 630 DAISY Award recipients applied for this scholarship. All applications were highly competitive and very compelling. The panel of judges, representing a cross section of nursing leaders, had the difficult decision of making the selection from this very competitive field. The DAISY Foundation and Cherokee Uniforms offer congratulations to the following individuals on being selected to receive one of the ten $2,000 scholarships:
“We are pleased to play a vital role in continuing to support nurses,” said Mike Singer, CEO, Strategic Partners, Inc. “As a long time supporter of The DAISY Foundation, we wanted to help nurses with their goals of furthering their careers.”
Bonnie Barnes, co-founder of The DAISY Foundation, said, “Looking at the number of applications Cherokee received, it is clear that this scholarship addresses a critical need in the nursing community; we couldn’t be happier with the response to this new benefit opportunity for DAISY Nurses.”

About The DAISY Foundation
The DAISY Foundation was created in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died at age 33 of complications of an auto-immune disease (hence the name, an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System.) Patrick received extraordinary care from his nurses, and his family felt compelled to express their profound gratitude for the compassion and skill nurses bring to patients and families every day. The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses celebrates nurses in over 2,600 healthcare facilities around the world.
