Scrubs fashion tips for the curvy nurse

LARGER THIGHS

Look for…
Do you carry more weight in your thighs? Dark colors will prove more flattering than pale ones. That doesn’t mean you necessarily have to stick with black! Jewel tones such as burgundy, purples and blues are stylish and on-trend. Charcoal is one of my favorite alternatives to black.

Try going for loose-fitting, wider-leg scrubs. And a flared pair is good because it will create a balanced silhouette, more so than the straight-leg scrubs.

Avoid…
Tapered-bottom scrubs will emphasize the lower torso. Cargo-style scrubs may also create the illusion of more volume due to the side pockets.

IMPORTANT ADVICE FOR EVERYONE

Make sure your scrubs fit properly. Wearing loose-fitting scrub tops and bottoms won’t make you look your best. Loose scrubs will hug you in the wrong places and hang from the body in other places.

You may need to do a bit of tailoring to achieve the right fit, but it’s worth it. Scrubs that fit correctly can make a big difference in how you look and feel.

Lastly, don’t worry about the size number. Beauty comes in every size! Wear whatever size fits you best. You’ll be happy you did.
