Salary booster: Is family nurse practitioner the right career path for you?

As more Americans gain access to healthcare, there are fewer physicians available to aid every patient throughout each workday. For nurses, this means the possibility of increased responsibility (and hopefully, with that, increased salaries and opportunities). In particular, family nurse practitioners (FNPs) could end up playing a valuable role in providing families with access to primary care.

The fun and beautiful infographic below highlights the role family nurse practitioners can play in addressing the shortage of primary care providers in the U.S., including possible salary increases. Which is saying something, since nurse practitioners already enjoy an average full-time total salary of $98,760 (according to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners).
