Allegheny General Hospital nurses are expected to approve a three-year contract that includes 3% annual increases, preserves retirement benefits and establishes a $300,000 training and education program for nurses. The contract will also lower nurse-patient ratios on three units and maintain a 50-cent per dollar match on 403b retirement contributions, up to 4% of a nurse’s salary.
A final tally is expected tonight, but union officials have endorsed the contract. Allegheny General Hospital’s 1300 nurse are represented by SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania.
