9) Be a team player and don’t simply do the bare minimum. Work is a lot less stressful when everyone on the unit is doing their best and helping one another. Everyone will need help at some point, and caring for the well-being of your coworkers in times of need will make your heavy days feel much lighter.

10) Have you ever heard the saying “an opinion is like an butthole, everyone’s got one”? It’s absolutely true, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Being negative and mean will bring staff morale down and directly affect the flow of your shift, which will ultimately hinder the quality of patient care. On the other hand, being positive will enhance staff morale, teamwork, and the quality of patient care.
