Nursing school in the works in Georgia

The University System of Georgia is looking to the governor to approve a bond measure to complete  a new nursing school project that is currently underway.  The completion of the new design for the School of Nursing at the University of West Georgia will be critical in producing new nurses for the area:

“With this new building, West Georgia will have the physical resources needed to expand existing programs and develop new ones to address health care needs in Georgia,” said Dr. Kathryn Grams, dean of the School of Nursing. “The university will be able to serve the community and prepare high-quality registered nurses for beginning and advanced practice roles. The School of Nursing students and faculty are very excited about the plans for a new facility here at UWG.” (Times Georgian)

The governor and legislature will have to decide if the bond project will survive budget cuts based on the projected revenues for the coming year.
