Nurses that Found Their Partners at Work Share Their Stories

Love is just what the doctor ordered. Nurses have been known to meet their romantic partners at work. They spend so much time at the hospital it’s only a matter of time before they start dating one of their own. We asked providers that found love at work to share their stories online. Who knew working as a nurse could be so rewarding?

We met in 2011, I used to work in recovery, and he was working on a surgical ward, only took him 6 years to ask me out, we got married in August ?❤️?? and now and having a baby ?.

Monica

His daughter was a frequent flyer in our PICU. After years of knowing them and treating her, he finally asked me out. Now married and happier than ever. ❤️ and his daughter has been hospital free since we’ve been together (4 years).

Jenny

Met my wife at our first ever nursing job. We work at different facilities now… both ICU RN’s. We’ve been together 6 years… married 1 year.

Thomas

We walked into new employee orientation together, just meeting that day in December 2015. Little did we know we’d be married 6 years later. We got married in June! We are both nurses on our hospital’s orthopedic/med surg floor and work the night shift together!

Natalie

He cheated on me with another colleague when our little boy was 9 months old. Learned never to mix business with pleasure! ?

Laura

Yes, I was a Charge Nurse and interviewed my future wife for a Staff Nurse position, been married for 40 years.

Joe

The one time I did, it was the worst 5 years of my life. I learned you don’t dip your pen in company ink.

Lindsay

I was working in the ER and at the time my husband was a cop and had accompanied a patient ? who just so happened to be my patient and now we are both ER nurses!

Macy

Yep, he worked nights in radiology, and I worked nights in ICU. Dated for 3 months and married over 40 years. Best thing ever happened to me!

My Nan was in a nursing home, and Mum and I traded off days to go visit her. I noticed that whatever time of day I went, within a few minutes one of the nurses would come in and bring my Nan a cup of tea and biscuit or cake. One day it was my turn to go, and I came straight from a funeral, so I was wearing a suit.

My Nan looked at me and smiled and asked if I was going to take her favorite nurse out to tea, because it was her birthday. I said no, but later I checked with the nurse and it *was* her birthday. I said, “My Nan thinks I should take you to tea for your birthday”. She replied, “I’m free on Saturday”. That was almost 15 years ago, and we’re still together.

Alex

Yes. RN here who married a paramedic after meeting him on the ER ramp ?.

Dorothy

I learned a very hard lesson to never date someone I work with! When we broke up, he showed up at work with huge hickeys on his neck! Rubbing salt in the wound! Never again ?

Denise

My wife and I met over a bedpan, she’s an OT and I was rounding on my patients and she asked if she could get some help and instead of going to get an aid (which some nurses in the SNF would’ve done) I said what do you need me to do. We have been married for 20 years.

Julio

I met my boyfriend on Tinder, and it just so happened that we had worked on the same ward together 7yrs prior (and hardly ever talked to each other back then).

Georgina

Yep… he came into the office after cutting his hand working cows…. got stitches and a girlfriend!! ???

Shannon

I met my boyfriend for our first date at a breakfast place after a night shift. I must have not looked as awful as I thought I did ??‍♀️?.

Kimberly

I get hit on by old men who pee on themselves. Hot.

Lara

Can’t get my meat where I make my bread. I don’t wanna see his @zz until I get home and not a moment sooner. Separation of work and play is a must for me. Even went as far as blocking all co-workers on Facebook and other platforms. And for a while my job was blocked on my cell so they can’t call me when I’m not there.

Dating at work has its benefits but it can also get you into trouble. We don’t need another Grey’s Anatomy on our hands. Thanks to everyone who shared their stories online.
