Nurse Who Worked New Year’s Eve is Surprised to Find Bill Paid

A healthcare worker assigned to work on New Year’s Eve thanked a stranger for paying for breakfast the next morning when she and her colleagues welcomed the start of 2022.

An emergency nurse living in Victoria posted on The Kindness Pandemic Facebook group about her sweet experience on January 1st.

‘I’m an emergency nurse and worked night shift on New Year’s Eve. A few of my colleagues and I went out for breakfast afterwards and when we went to pay, an anonymous person had already picked up our bill, drinks and all, as a thank you for what we do,’ she wrote.

‘We don’t do it for the thanks, but it’s so nice when things like this happen. I know I am going to pay it forward.’

Many of her fellow Australians were delighted to see healthcare workers at the forefront after fighting Covid for two years have received the recognition they deserve.

‘Glad to hear this wonderful act of kindness. No need to pay forward. I am extremely grateful you are looking after us and are doing an excellent job. Take care of yourself,’ one man wrote.

‘Well deserved treat for all of you. Thank you for all you do as nurses,’ said another.

A third added: ‘I have the utmost respect for nurses, and especially during this pandemic! You deserve the breakfast! Much thanks yo your anonymous gifter’.
