Videos: Portraits of the American nurse

What does the nursing profession say about America? Photographer Carolyn Jones set out across the country to find out, and the result was the stunning tome The American Nurse, published in October. The American Nurse–featured in the Spring 2013 print issue of Scrubscomprises 75 portraits, interviews and biographies of nurses in America to highlight the true role nurses play in our healthcare system.
In the following videos, five of the nurses featured in The American Nurse give us the inside story of how they got into the profession–and how it gives their lives meaning. We dare you not to get chills while watching!
