Movie picks: The Princess Bride

Denise Kennard, RNCosta Mesa, CA
Recommendation: The Princess Bride

“I love my job! This calling is exciting, challenging, and fulfilling. We really do have the opportunity to make people’s lives better. Of course, it’s not an easy job. As my sisters and brothers in scrubs know, it can be stressful, difficult, even painful. On days when I am tempted to be overwhelmed by the profession, there are two things I have to put on my agenda: laugh and dream.

Now, it may sound too easy, but sometimes I can accomplish those two priorities by just popping a movie into the DVD player. For me, it’s the Princess Bride–a silly, romantic story that makes me laugh, but also reminds me of the beauty and endurance of True Love. Those of you who enjoy the movie know exactly what I mean. So, if you haven’t seen it, give it a try! Take some time to laugh and dream.”
