Fellow nurses, my name is Lauren Drain and I have been an RN for the past 10 years, primarily working in acute care in several different teaching hospitals. My specialty has been cardiac nursing, cardiac stepdown/ICU and cardiac float nursing. Over the years, I’ve noticed most of my co-worker nurses giving their all at work and to their patients, but then finding their own health and wellness falling to the wayside. In order to help remedy the situation, I started to study which elements about the nursing culture helped contribute to the tired, stressed, malnourished, fatigued nurse who oftentimes didn’t have time, energy or motivation for his/her own wellbeing. I, myself, fell victim to the same pattern for about 7 years. When I finally realized that that path had lead me to become overweight, unhappy, lacking confidence and happiness I decided to take action and get into the best shape of my life.
I became an NASM certified personal trainer, earned my Bikini Pro card in the WBFF and alongside my nursing background over the last 4 years I developed a program that has not only transformed my own body but that of over 20,000 other men and women. Many of my clients are in fact nurses themselves from all around the world. I wanted to help change the nursing culture and the lifestyle of a busy RN into that of a health conscious, energetic, confident, happy and fit nurse.
This is why I developed my 6 Week Challenge for a total body transformation that sheds fat & builds muscle, gaining energy, strength, confidence and overall achieving a since of control over your own health. As a nurse I do not believe in crash yoyo diets or gimmicks that promise you the world. We all know you have to put in the work and make some lifestyle changes.
With my guidance and personal experience I have been able to help thousands of men and women achieve just that. But don’t take my word for it, I want my past clients to speak for themselves. Take a look at just a few total body transformations and testimonials from some of my clients in the medical community and nursing fields. You can find more info on my website, see my own transformation and those of my past clients, read their testimonials & see all my program options. And for being a fellow nurse, I’m including a $10 off coupon for my 6 Week Spring Slim & Build Challenge that will be starting 3/25/18. Nurse Jessica: Lauren’s six week challenge was exactly what I needed to get me back into a consistent healthy lifestyle! The other main reason was because I felt like investing in this and having to perform weekly check-ins would help keep me feeling accountable, something I hadn’t exactly been holding myself to for a while. A little over a year ago, I decided to take on a new personal goal to compete in my first bikini competition… I did some serious prep for almost ten weeks and earned a great physique in that short period of time. However, following the show, my diet and my workout regimen tanked. Allowing myself to have cheat foods after not even being able to use condiments like ketchup put my taste buds and hormones on a whirlwind. Suffice it to say, I developed a binge eating disorder that was extremely difficult to break out of and gained all the weight I lost back, plus more. I eventually established better eating habits after a few months, but still had a hard time finding the drive to hit the gym hard like I used to. I was feeling unmotivated because I was fatigued, constantly bloated, and overwhelmed with all the things that needed to be done in my day. Working as a nurse with a busy schedule, while also having a very energetic 9 month old puppy Labrador still in training wasn’t helping my situation. My life didn’t really have structure, I was operating on more a of a reactive routine, than a proactive one. After completing this challenge though, I’ve gained that structure back! I became less fatigued, my bloating went away, my time management improved… all of this enhanced my motivation to stick with it! I’m extremely pleased with my results and am even more ecstatic that I’ve found a way to incorporate healthy living back into my daily life without hassle. This challenge has proved to be something I can surely sustain and is definitely not a crash diet that will set me up for another binge eating lapse.
Rebecca: 7 years ago I was diagnosed with PCOS and thyroid issues, which both hand-in-hand make it very difficult to lose weight. I gained weight so rapidly that my AC1 levels skyrocketed and I was diagnosed as prediabetic later that same year. I lost my father figure the next year, then my boyfriend the following year to cancer, and as you can imagine, I was severely depressed and grew to hate life and myself. Shortly after I developed a drinking problem. While traveling I’d either eating and drinking all day long, or I just wouldn’t eat anything at all, all in total disregard to my health issues. It took waking up on a gurney in the ER of a trauma hospital to realize something needed to change. I came across Lauren’s profile on Instagram and was immediately inspired. In high school I was super active and really involved in sports and fitness, so it was almost a bit nostalgic. Then when I read that she was a registered nurse, I actually felt reassured in the thought that this is someone who knows exactly what my health conditions are and isn’t just some textbook PT trying to rob me of my dollar. Without a second thought, I signed up for the challenge as a birthday present to myself. 6 weeks later and I promise you I have not made a better decision greater than this one in my entire life. I have dropped over 20lbs in the course of 6 weeks! I’m healthy and I’m loving my life and the way I feel and my body all over again. For the first time in several years, I am in a single digit jean size; I LOVE shopping now! Through the course of this challenge, I have found new foods I love, figured out my weaknesses and how to improve them, learned what “mind over matter” really means, and uncovered the truth in knowing there is no better investment you can make than one of improvement of your whole self.
NGA: Lauren, you are my saving grace! Your program came at just the right time when I was feeling hopeless and depressed. After having 2 kids my body was never the same. I was left with a saggy stomach and derrière. I was growing older (forty is right around the corner) and frumpier by the day. Working in the medical field, I knew the importance of taking care of my health but was too stressed out to do anything about it. I survived on pizza, donuts, and ice cream daily after long hours at work. Sadly, my kids eat what their mommy eat. I knew if I didn’t change my lifestyle soon diabetes and hyperlipemia would be a huge concern not just for myself but for my darling kids. Your meal and exercise plans were easy to follow and certainly doable long term. I measured my success not by the scale but by inches lost and strength gained. Jumping for joy when I lost 8 inches off my waist and got stronger with each day I followed your program. Pictures are worth a thousand words so I will let my after pictures speak for themselves 🙂
Deanne: I’ve had 3 children, 2 c-sections, repeated abdominal muscle separation, and a million other excuses to not eat healthy or be fit. But do you know what? That’s just what they are…EXCUSES!!! I have been in and out of the gym for the last 10 years but I have seen more results in the last six weeks than in all those years. I needed a complete program like this that includes meals and the RIGHT way to work out! I have literally NEVER been able to stick with a program for this length of time until now! And having finished… I feel as if I now have this tool that I can use for the rest of my life! I lost 8 lbs & a total of 12 inches around my body.
