Inspiration: Sweet video celebrating pediatric nursing

Anyone looking to shed a tear? Though that probably isn’t your goal for the day, this nursing video from Johnson & Johnson definitely had us tearing up. Why? It’s part of the “Campaign for Nursing’s Future” and features a pediatric nurse working with one of his young, terminally ill patients.
Watch the sweet video here:

“At the end of each day, these kids still want to color, and play, and smile,” says Tom, the RN featured in the video. “It shows how strong a person can be, regardless of age.” Tom currently works at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Tom told Johnson & Johnson that he originally wanted to work in the ER, but after a rotation in peds he decided that he’d found exactly where he was meant to be.

To learn more about Tom and other nurses highlighted by Johnson & Johnson, head on over to their campaign website. They also have tons of cool information about becoming a nurse and different work programs.

Are you a pediatric nurse? What’s one thing that inspires you every day on the job? Let us know in the comments below.
