I Had An A+ In Hating School

Well, that was in the past. I used to be average in high school and middle school. I never was the smartest. I could have been, but I chose not to. Why? Because I didn’t care. I didn’t care about the novel in English class or how A+B=C. When I went to college, I started off as a Communications major. I still had the same mindset of mundane average essays and homework. But something changed.

I like to say I found nursing. But honestly, I think nursing found me.

When I was accepted into nursing school, I was different. I actually ENJOYED, for the first time in my life, schoolwork, taking tests, reading textbooks. It was weird what my mind could do when it wanted to do something. It was like my brain cells “turned on,” and suddenly I could be smart. Average wasn’t okay for me anymore. I asked questions and I try to push myself.

The moral of this story: The brain is infinite when truly is inspired. What inspires you?
