If you need to take prerequisite classes before applying to nursing schools, make that time count by doing some introspective thinking about what type of nursing specialty you’d like to go into. Would you like to be a nurse who works in an emergency room environment? Or a mental health facility? Would you rather work with children, or senior citizens? Would you want to be a nurse practitioner? Nursing schools are looking for well-rounded people who have concrete ideas as to why they want to go into nursing and what they’d like to be doing. This type of preparation can be just as important as studying hard in class or for any standardized tests you need to take.
