A nurse can help aid the schizophrenic patient by monitoring the mental state of the patient after medication has been administered. If the nurse and patient are able to communicate, the patient becomes more receptive to self-care.
Proper nursing can restore the self-empowerment of the schizophrenic patient. The presence of nurses in a mental care facility has greatly increased the overall quality of life for those afflicted.
