WORST HOSPITAL FOOD

Ruth Hartman Metzger
Mercy’s food = good. Kane hospital food = OH GOD, NO!

Maranda Thompson – Kaiser’s Zion Hospital in San Diego, Calif.
My last two children were born at Kaiser’s Zion Hospital in San Diego, Calif., and the food was disgusting! I work in Riverside, Calif., at the county hospital, and I ate their cafeteria food last Thursday. In honor of Black History Month, the menu included spareribs, cornbread, seasoned greens, sweet potatoes and corn on the cob. While this all sounds appetizing and the presentation was great, the taste was gross! The spareribs were okay. The cornbread was mixed with jalapeños, the corn tasted undercooked and bland, the sweet potatoes weren’t soft enough and the greens were seasonless and disgusting!!! I was highly disappointed, and especially since they didn’t offer employee discount. So it’s my belief that location of a hospital plays a role in its quality of food.

Bring your own lunch – worst hospital cafeteria food ever 😉

Never again will I eat chicken gumbo; the stuff they serve at my hospital cafeteria under that name looks exactly like what I cleaned up that night. Ugh. I don’t even look to see if they’re serving soup anymore. Soup and poop rhyme. Coincidence? Maybe.
