The U.S. Supreme Court may soon strike down Roe v. Wade, according to a leaked draft of an opinion obtained by Politico, which would leave the question of abortion up to the states. Nearly half of all states could impose abortion restrictions if the high court strikes down the 49-year-old legal precedent when it rules on a Mississippi case that would ban abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy later this June.
The ruling could have a major impact on healthcare workers as they adjust to the changing legal landscape. Some states may make it illegal for providers to perform abortions or help women travel across state lines to receive an abortion.
Millions of nurses took to social media to discuss the possibility of the justices overturning Roe v. Wade and what it would mean for their patients. They sent a clear message to the Supreme Court:
You are responsible for and jeopardizing women’s health – as they will seek abortions from unsafe sources.
Kathy
The so-called moral majority wants everyone to live by their rules. They want us to bow down to them. Whether you believe in abortion or not, you shouldn’t take people rights away, especially if it concerns their own body. How is it hurting you?
Make abortion a crime and it will only continue behind back doors and who’s going to take care of these unwanted children? Be careful when they start taking rights away. It could be yours. People came to this country to be able to believe as they wanted to not to have someone else’s belief system forced on them. 😥😔😥
Shirley
Stop telling women what to do with our bodies. You wouldn’t do that to men. If unwanted pregnancies are God’s will, then so is limp dick. Abortions illegal so should be ED meds.
Jamy
Mind your own business! This is all Trump’s legacy to appeal to his radical evangelical base. And you are his agent.
Eileen
100% of unintended pregnancies are caused by men, so start there.
Shannon
Why is the government still regulating what we do with our uteruses? My body, my choice.
Jen
No one is pro Abortion… It should be up to each woman to make the decision for themselves. How many laws are there that regulate men’s bodies??? NONE!!! Keep your laws out of my uterus.
Stacy
They better be putting money aside for women to get voluntary tubal ligations with the only age restriction being 18 years old 🤷🏻♀️
Amber
I would suggest that all the anti-abortion groups get ready to accept and care for all the babies who would have been aborted.
Janet
Dear Supreme Court – keep your religious beliefs out of the COURTS!
Sue
The country with the highest maternal death, least affordable healthcare and scarce access to mental health resources. They want to kill women and the blood will be on their hands.
Shannon
Never thought I’d see the day! I do believe that RBG just rolled over in her grave.
Betty
Thanks for making our lives even more dangerous. Now instead of safe abortions, women will die needlessly.
Amber
Free birth control for all. Vasectomies prevent abortion. Stop funding generation after generation of mothers having multiple babies by multiple dead-beat fathers. I have seen 12-year-old children get abortions for the 10th time. This must be stopped before they are pregnant.
Brenda
Every woman should have the right to decide what she wants to do. I am against abortion, but you never know the circumstances. And rape, incest should be out of the question.
Angela
I would like to say, “Screw off.” I will do what I want with my body!!!!
Louisa
Wtf!!! If you don’t have a uterus, you have no opinion on the matter. Let’s not change progress. Let’s not take women’s rights away.
Ashley
