Healthcare Environmental Services Week


This week, from September 11 to September 17, we’re celebrating Healthcare Environmental Services Week. During this week, the nation recognizes the workers who ensure the patient-care environment remains as clean and comfortable as possible for both patients and members of the healthcare team. While a simple thank you is one way to show appreciation to your organization’s housekeeping team, additional recognition and some event-related merchandise is a great way to show your workers how much you truly value their contributions, which include:

Preventing Infection

Of course, helping to prevent nosocomial infections is one of the most valuable contributions that housekeeping workers make. With so many sick patients in the hospital, keeping patient rooms and common areas clean is an absolutely essential part of infection prevention. Members of the housekeeping team are literally saving patients’ lives by ensuring that each room and common area is as clean as possible.
