Good or Bad? You decide:
We all know many nurses rely on coffee to get through long days and nights, but a new study shows that coffee intake also may prevent depression in women who drink more than one cup a day. The study, by the Harvard Medical School, observed 50,000 U.S. female nurses for a decade and found that those who had two to three cups of coffee a day were 15 percent less likely to become depressed, with those who drank four cups reducing their risk by 20 percent. Researchers say that the findings only concern coffee containing caffeine, and that it is not clear why coffee has this effect. Additionally, they point out that there is still much research to be done concerning this issue, and that they are not recommending women begin drinking more coffee.
In addition to an energy rush, do you find coffee provides you with long-term beneficial effects?
