Let’s face it: Nursing can be one intense gig.

When I need to get my job out of my head, I try to find easy and light reads. Here are my picks for right now:

1) Does the noise in my head bother you? By Steven Tyler. I love the homage paid to schizophrenics in the title. And I love Aerosmith. Win Win.

2) Bossy pants by Tina Fey. Love her, love her comedy, and have been told by many I will love her book.

3) The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I know they are turning it into a movie but I want to read the book first. My mom loved it and has insisted that I read it as well. It looks great.

What are your “escapist” recommendations?

Rebekah Child
Rebekah Child attended the University of Southern California for her bachelor's in nursing and decided to brave the academic waters and return for her master's in nursing education, graduating in 2003 from Mount St. Mary's. Rebekah has also taught nursing clinical and theory at numerous Southern California nursing schools and has been an emergency nurse since 2002. She is currently one of the clinical educators for an emergency department in Southern California and a student (again!) in the doctoral program at the University of California, Los Angeles.
