Jean W. Lange, PhD, RN, professor of nursing at Fairfield University in Connecticut, has won a 2010 End-of-life Education Consortium (ELNEC) award from the American Association of the Colleges of Nursing.
 The award recognizes individuals who have been central to improving palliative care in the United States. Dr. Lange was one of ten nurse educators honored this year.Â
Dr. Lange is a certified ELNEC faculty trainer and teaches in both the undergraduate and graduate programs at Fairfield. She is a nationally recognized scholar in gerontological education and end-of-life concerns, including equal access to quality care. She also established many partnerships with local universities, health centers, older adult care agencies and area hospitals to serve the needs of older adults.
