Dressing for your body type: 5 fall scrubs for V-shaped nurses

Got a V-shaped figure? Shopping for fall? We’ve got you covered with five great scrubs!
According to our helpful style tool (check it out for more great suggestions!), ladies with a V-shape should check out solid-color fabric tops, empire-waist tops and mock wrap V-neck tops for the best-looking fits. The most flattering pants typically are cargo, flare-leg or wide-leg, and match the top.

Here are our top picks!

Jr. fit V-neck top: According to the style tool, “With your broader shoulders, you really can’t go wrong with a solid scrub top…and there are so many great colors available that you can get creative with how you mix and match your top and bottom with complementary shades.” We love this Dickies Junior fit V-neck top that features a fashionable zipper neckline, side vents, two front patch pockets and an interior pocket with zipper opening. Deep navy is a great color to transition from fall to winter and flattering, too!

V-neck top: V-neck tops elongate the body, and we love this rich and cheerful red for autumn. This HeartSoul top features a faux collar with a peek-a-boo detail at the neckline, a front yoke, patch pockets, signature woven tape at the back neck, back darts and side vents.

Mid-rise drawstring cargo pant: A flared leg can add shape to your legs and balance out your middle, and classic black goes with everything for fall. This mid-rise, moderate-flare-leg pant features an adjustable drawstring with elastic at the back and Dickies logo twill tape on the inside back waistband. Also featured are patch pockets, a back pocket, cargo pockets with a stretchy red knit interior pocket (white knit pocket on white) and side vents.

Low-rise drawstring pant: Loose-fitting, wider-leg scrubs are great for you because they won’t feel too tight on your thighs. Drawstring pants are also recommended. These low-rise, straight leg pants from Cherokee fit the bill with an elastic waistband and a functional drawstring. Also featured are two slash pockets, an instrument loop below the right side pocket and two back pockets. The right back pocket has multiple pin-tucks with a tonal zig zag design.

Mock wrap top: The style guide encourages V-shaped ladies to “Go for definition! Highlight the narrowest part of your torso with a band under the breasts or empire waist. An empire-style top will skim gently over the waist while fitting well in the chest.” This Cherokee mock wrap top will work well for you, featuring four patch pockets with an added pencil stitch at the right pocket. Elastic at the back waist casing and side vents complete the look. Don’t the bubbles look a bit like festive holiday lights?!
