The Visiting Nurse Association of South Central Connecticut will be hosting its annual Nightingale Awards for Excellence in Nursing in Wallingford, Conn., on May 5, the eve before National Nursing Week officially begins. Seventy nurses from the Greater New Haven area will be honored in front of some 500 attendees, and the association is thrilled that Edward M. Kennedy, Jr. (the son of the late Senator Edward M. “Ted” Kennedy) will be delivering the keynote address. Proceeds from the event provide scholarships to five nursing students, each studying at one of five local schools of nursing.
