Classic songs for a nurse sing-along

3. “Margaritaville”
Tired of hearing too many call bells? The phone ringing off the hook? Hearing your name called so many times, you wish you’d told the patients your name was something else? Maybe it’s time for an escape to a nurse’s version of Jimmy Buffet’s “Margaritaville.”

Nibblin’ on dry cake
Feeling my joints ache
Which of my patients has once again soiled?
Drummin’ my fingers
Waiting the for the phone ring
My temper’s beginning to rise, soon it will boil

Waiting to escape again to Margaritaville
Searching for my lost shaker of salt
Some people claim that there’s a doctor to blame
But I know it’s my hypertension’s fault

I don’t know the reason
Thoughts of vacation are teasin’
But I’m stuck working here in this zoo
The patients are real sick
I’m waiting for orders
But the docs here don’t have a clue

Waiting to escape again to Margaritaville
Searching for my lost shaker of salt
Some people claim that there’s a doctor to blame
But I know it’s my hypertension’s fault

I finished my charting
Praying my car will be starting
Had to go back twice for things I forgot
But there’s booze in the blender
And soon it will render
That frozen concoction that helps me hang on
Hang on

Waiting to escape again to Margaritaville
Searching for my lost shaker of salt
Some people claim that there’s a doctor to blame
But I know it’s my hypertension’s fault
