Celebrating 10 Years of Scrubs Magazine

Bringing You the News You Care About Most

2018 marks the 10th anniversary of Scrubs Magazine and we’re taking a moment to reflect on all that we’ve done for the nursing community over these past 10 years. Scrubs Mag has always been about you, the brave nurses across the country that give up their precious time to take care of others. We know how hard you work to care for your patients. That’s why we created this magazine in the first place. It’s a place where you can learn about your community, so you can be the best nurse you can be.

Learn more about the history and enduring legacy of Scrubs Magazine.

The Founding of Scrubs Magazine

When Scrubs Magazine was created 10 years ago in 2008, the healthcare landscape looked much different than it does today. The Affordable Care Act hadn’t been signed into law, but the talk of passing new healthcare legislation was creating a lot of uncertainty in the industry. Town halls were popping up all over the country and many households were still reeling from the Great Recession. It was an uneasy time in America as the economy teetered on the brink of collapse.

We created this magazine as a way of helping nurses make sense of what was and is going on in the world of healthcare. From policy updates to lifestyle tips, we’ve been compiling stories that are relevant to your career and the way you live your life as a nurse practitioner.

Scrubs Magazine Today

Today, Scrubs Magazine is so much more than a traditional healthcare news magazine. We look for stories that can truly make a difference in your life, including lifestyle and wellness pieces, beauty and personal health tips for professionals in the healthcare industry, career building tools and advice, funny and heartwarming stories to break long days on the floor, and other news and information that you can use to better your life and career.

Clocking into work every day as a nurse often means you don’t have much time to find these stories on your own. You may be so burnt out from another 12-hour shift that you don’t have the mental energy to find and sort through the stories that matter most, including those that can help you get ahead in your career. But with Scrubs Magazine, all you have to do is click on our website and all the most relevant stories will appear in your feed.

Nursing is unlike any other job in the world. It’s not just about making money and getting a promotion. It’s about serving your patients to the best of your abilities, protecting yourself and your patients in the workplace, and taking care of your mind and body when you’re working long hours week after week.

We’ve been so proud to share these stories with you over the last 10 years. We know being a nurse isn’t always easy. But we’re here to help. Take control of your nursing career and stick with Scrubs Magazine for another 10 years.
