Taking a vacation is something to look forward to—perhaps going somewhere you’ve never been before and, maybe more importantly, being away from your phone so no one can call you in to work that extra shift. Being out of reach and away from your regular routine can give your body the boost it needs, both physically and mentally, so you can get back to your demanding role as a nurse.
It’s hard to be a good nurse if you haven’t taken the time to be good to yourself once in a while. But with a limited budget and vacation times that may be out of sync with everyone else’s, how can a nurse manage to get away from reality?
