Man Admitted to Local Hospital After Woman Cuts Off His Genitals

0

A disturbing incident came out of Spain this week. An unidentified woman claims her boss tried to sexually assault her on the job, so she grabbed a knife in self-defense and cut off his genitals. The man was quickly transported to a local hospital, where providers tried to reattach the missing part of his body via surgery. Talk about a tough day at work.

But now, the local authorities are starting to doubt the woman’s version of events. It’s still not clear if she acted in self-defense or if there was something more insidious going on behind the scenes.

A Brutal Attack or Self-Defense?

The woman says her boss tried to rape her during a shift at a bar in Sant Andreu de la Barca, Spain, on Monday night. Around midnight, she called for emergency services, who arrived on the scene a short while later. They took the man, who is the owner of the bar, to Bellvitge University Hospital for emergency surgery in an attempt to reattach his genitals.

The woman says this wasn’t the first time her boss has tried to sexually assault her. She told police that he has forced her to have sex with him on multiple occasions.

The staff was able to reattach his genitals, but he remains in critical condition in the hospital.

The authorities say they are waiting to charge him with sexual assault until they have a chance to interview him.

Things took a turn on Thursday when the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) announced that the woman would be temporarily held at a local prison after a judge rejected her version of events that led to the attack, adding that there were disparities between what she told the court and the evidence found at the scene.

Several witnesses also came forward to dispute her vision of events, including one person who said the two lived together as a couple before the incident.

For now, the woman has been charged with inflicting serious injury with a dangerous instrument. Authorities say they will continue to investigate the scene in the days to come.

Rushing to Her Defense

Social media has weighed in on the series of events. Many people came to the woman’s defense when they heard the news that she was going to jail for her actions.

“I don’t see a problem here,” one user commented on Twitter. “If you try to use your genitals as a life-threatening weapon, then it probably should be removed.”

“She understood the assignment,” another user wrote. “She did nothing wrong.”

Spanish law says that a person can’t be held accountable for crimes of self-defense if there was unlawful aggression, a need to prevent or repel it, and a lack of provocation on the part of the defending person.

There is some legal precedent to suggest the law may be on her side.

In 2017, an Indian woman cut off the genitals of a religious Hindu leader after he tried to rape her. She claimed the perpetrator, Gangeshananda Theerthapada, often visited her family’s home in the city of Kerala to pray for her father. It was there that he assaulted her numerous times.

During the incident, the woman grabbed a knife and cut off the man’s genitals. She then called the police to report the incident. In the end, the authorities didn’t press charges against the woman after several women’s groups and government officials came to her defense.

It’s a shocking type of incident that will keep any man up at night. Hopefully, the authorities get to the bottom of what really happened.
