May 6 is National School Nurse Day

0

“The 41st Anniversary of National School Nurse Day reinforces the need to share the vital work of school nurses in serving school communities and beyond. The nurses support the physical, mental, emotional, and social health of students,” said Jean Tripp, Lead School Nurse.  (Johnston.Mync.com)

All across the nation, communities are celebrating school nurses for the role they play in keeping students healthy and ready to learn.

This day is also an opportunity, says Jean Trip, “…for school nurses to articulate what they do to remove or minimize health related barriers to student success. We are school nurses; we support student success!”

See our photo gallery of a school nurse who defies the myths about this important specialty, then tell us, how should we show school nurses how much we appreciate them?
