She works hard for the money…

Wasn’t that a great Donna Summers song? Ah, disco…but I digress…
I hate working on Sundays. Sunday should be a day that you leisurely sit around and sip coffee, read the paper, check out the weekly deals and just relax. Driving into work and living in Southern California, I pass by many outdoor restaurants that are packed with people who are happily enjoying their Sunday morning pancakes. I want to enjoy pancakes too!! I want leisure!! I want unlimited coffee refills!!!

So whenever I work Sunday, I try to treat myself to something special. Maybe an extra fancy latte or a gourmet cookie. Some sort of treat that alleviates the sting of spending 12 hours of my Sunday indoors under fluorescent lighting.

But there is the perk! The perk is that now I have Monday off. And if you haven’t checked it out yet, check out the new Scrubs Magazine that discusses the many merits of having off shift hours. There truly is nothing so peaceful as Costco on a Thursday afternoon or hair appointments on Wednesday. These perks make my Sundays at work more bearable.

Also, the parking is better on Sunday and I have yet to see any kind of regulatory agency doing audits on a Sunday. I hope they don’t read my blog! I’d hate for JCAHO to ruin my fancy Sunday latte with a “visit”!

Have a great week everyone and enjoy all the weird hours we get to work because, hey, in my eyes its SOOO much better than Monday through Friday, 9-5!
