By A relief fund has been set up by the Missouri Nurses Foundation to assist nurses in the Joplin, Mo. area after a tornado ravaged the area, leaving at least 125 people dead and destroying around 2,000 structures.
Following the tornado touching down on May 22, the fund has now raised over $7,600 from nurses associations across the country, and is currently seeking donations and volunteer time from those interested in helping the town.

While the town’s medical center, St. John’s Regional Medical Center, was not destroyed, it was severely damaged. The storm resulted in the deaths of five patients and one visitor at the facility.
