If Joy Cunningham wins the November election for Illinois Supreme Court justice, she’ll be one busy woman. Of course, being busy is nothing new for her—Cunningham used to be a nurse!

Cunningham, 60, is also a history-maker: In 2004 she became the first black female president of the Chicago Bar Association, and if she wins the upcoming election, she’ll become the first black female Supreme Court justice. Good luck, Nurse Cunningham!
