Q&A with Nurse Wilson – A Warrior in Pink

Scrubs is proud to be linking up with Warriors in Pink, Ford’s campaign to fight breast cancer with stories of hope. One of their “Models of Courage” this year is Ruby Wilson, a nurse from Brazoria, Texas. Diagnosed in 2000, Ruby has been cancer-free for 13 years now. Learn more about her in her Q&A below:

What is your most treasured possession?
My health.

What is your idea of happiness?
Spending time with my family.

What do you fear most?
Losing my daughter and son.

Which talent would you most like to have?
To sing.

How has having breast cancer changed your outlook on life?
I have learned to appreciate the small things in life.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Completing my Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.

What do you most value in your friends?
Honesty.

What is your motto?
Put yourself in the other person’s place—the true meaning of empathy.
