Nurses Take Disneyland: Nurses Week 2018

0

On Monday, May 7, Mickey and Minnie Mouse will welcome thousands of very special visitors—nurses– to Disneyland California when Cherokee Uniforms, along with Scrubs Magazine and sponsors Wanderly Nurses, Emerald Health Services and Littmann Stethoscopes, celebrate National Nurses Week at “The Happiest Place on Earth.”
This year, Cherokee and ScrubsMag will show their appreciation for nurses with a day of fun, friendship and carefree experiences at the famed Anaheim park. RN Kelley Johnson, who is also Miss California USA 2018 and representing California in the Miss USA competition on May 21, will be the onsite host for the event which will feature 50 Cherokee Brand Ambassadors, aka Nurseonalities.

A Nurseonality is a “wisdom-filled caregiver with a huge heart and a big smile,” according to the Facebook group Nurseonality. ScrubsMag regularly spotlights its Nurseonalities as a way of honoring nurses all the time, not just during Nurses Week.

Mike Singer, Chairman and CEO of Strategic Partners, Inc., the manufacturer of Cherokee and other well-known medical apparel brands, also will be at the Park to meet nurses and to help celebrate and show his support for the incredible work nurses do.

“I’m excited to spend the day with so many dedicated professionals who make a difference in people’s lives every day,” said Singer. “Nurses make others smile through the most difficult times, and it is rewarding and gratifying for me to be a part of this event that will bring happiness to them during this special week.”

Scrubsmag is thrilled that so many nurses have responded to our Facebook and social media pages promoting #NursesTakeDisneyland and is looking forward to a big turnout.

A U.S. President Fuels the Momentum behind #NursesTakeDisneyland
National Nurses Week, which runs from May 6 to May 12, began in 1982 when President Ronald Reagan, after advocation from the American Nurses Association, signed a proclamation declaring that May 6 would be National Recognition Day for nurses. In 1990, the ANA expanded the day into an entire week honoring nurses, concluding the week-long celebration on May 12—Florence Nightingale’s birthday.

President Reagan’s advocacy for nurses had a significant impact on CEO Mike Singer. In fact, Singer met the President while he was in office, inspiring his lifetime of dedication and commitment to nurses. This respect and honor for those in the medical field remains a critical component not only of National Nurses Week, but of the mission of Strategic Partners, as well.

Companies Coming Together to Honor Nurses
Sponsors for the #NursesTakeDisneyland event include Wanderly Nurses, Emerald Health Services, and Littmann Stethoscopes.

Wanderly is dedicated to finding travel jobs from leading agencies for nurses; Emerald Health Services is another leading agency that exists to help nurses find jobs they love. Littmann Stethoscopes is the leading manufacturer of the world’s finest stethoscopes for medical professionals. Each company is fully committed to supporting nurses not just through National Nurses Week, but every single day of each year.

This event for nurses at Disneyland is an historic event that’s never been done before, and we can’t wait to celebrate National Nurses Week at The Happiest Place on Earth with some of the greatest nurses on Earth! Be sure to follow #NursesTakeDisneyland throughout the day for updates and photos.
