He is described as an “angel” and “gentleman” who comforts families at times of distress. The 10th Annual Hospital Hero Awards were presented to 26 individuals across L.A. County hospitals who have provided extraordinary health care, and have gone beyond the call of duty. Glendale Adventist Medical Center (GAMC) is proud to congratulate Jarrud Knapp, RN, who received this special award. Here is what patients shared about him: “Jarrud is wonderful and treated me so well. He was like a son to me—very attentive and caring.” Many patients have described Jarrud as someone who ensures their concerns are met and makes them feel comfortable.

Jarrud is a nurse in cardiac telemetry and has worked at GAMC for over two years in various roles, starting in patient transport and moving into a student nurse/CNA role. After graduating from the nursing program at Mount Saint Mary’s University in 2014, Jarrud took on a full-time position as an RN at GAMC. He enjoys helping people and fulfilling his true passion for providing compassionate health care. He enjoys spending time with his 15-month old son James and exploring places like the zoo. He even had the opportunity to go to Armenia through his high school student exchange program, which has helped Jarrud develop a special bond with GAMC’s Armenian patient population.

Thanks to Glendale Adventist Medical Center for nominating Jarrud!
