600,000 new jobs for RN’s to be created by 2018

According to NPR news and statistics projected by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there’s no time like the next decade to become a nurse.
The benefits of choosing a career in nursing include:

  • Median wage for RN’s: $62,450
  • A sense of job security due to high demand
  • Entry level degree earned in just three years
  • Flexible work hours

The benefits are weighed against the fact that nursing is a difficult job, mentally and physically. Although nursing is a job that can afford a steady paycheck, ironically, most nurses seem to agree that it’s not a job that you do ‘for the money.’
