2. Be a Visionary

The Show: FlashForward

In FlashForward, a mysterious global event called the “blackout” causes (almost) everyone to lose consciousness and then see a vision of their lives in six months’ time. In his flash forward, FBI Special Agent Mark Benford (Joseph Fiennes) sees himself taking point on the investigation of the blackout. Amid the international chaos, Benford makes his future a reality, driven by what he saw. Soon, his LA office becomes the lead FBI team on the case. Freaky.

The Lesson:

While it’s probably a bad idea to go around claiming visions of the future, do take a step back and look at the big picture. Be a visionary — make your dreams a reality by working hard, speaking up, and aiming high. Nothing ever happened by doing more of the same! Visualize where you want to be in five or 10 years and start making changes now to meet that goal.
