13 Ways to Tell if You’re a Nurse

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so during Nurses Week 2016, we asked our Funny Nurses family to fill in the blank after “You know you’re a NURSE when…” (above) and we got some pretty great responses! We think you’ll relate – see below:

You know you’re a NURSE when…

1. You wash your hands before you use the bathroom.  – Whitney Campbell

2. You hear the sound of an alarming IV pump in your sleep! – Katie Holmes

3. You have to correct all the medical mistakes on TV shows, out loud. – Amy Jaquita Mullins

4. You can discuss color, odor, and consistency of bodily fluids over lunch. – Cassie Ngo

5. When seeing someone not wash their hands is more disgusting to you than seeing bodily fluids. Wash your hands!! – Krystle Mae Santos

6. When you’re watching a horror movie and someone cuts themselves, and the first thing you say is “Damn he’s gonna get an infection.”  – Alexandra Connell

7. You’re in the store and you see a good looking guy and the first thing to pop in your mind is damn he’s got garden hoses for veins! – Stephanie Morris

8. Everyone you know calls to tell you about their symptoms and wants to know what they should do!! – Nicole Goerger Judkins

9. You sign RN behind your signature during a bank transaction… or anywhere outside of work that requires your signature! – Tashonna Wicks

10. You see someone at the supermarket with an O2 tank and you instantly assess their respers and color. – Kevin Arlt

11. When you can’t hold your husband’s hand without yours automatically moving up to check his radial pulse. I do this all the time without really thinking about it. Hubby will just turn to me and ask “so, am I still alive?” – Kristi Couch

12. When you totally enjoy having a conversation with your demented patient and do not mind that it makes no sense whatsoever, but you listen, acknowledge and smile! – Wangare Gitz

13. You’re at home and you knock on your own door before you open it… – Cindy Lou
