The website Online Nurse Practitioner Programs recently created a comprehensive guide of nurses on Twitter, 100 Twitter Feeds Every Nurse Should Follow. One of our favorite nurse tweeters, Brittney of The Nerdy Nurse, made the list, which was organized into categories including Nurse Education & Academics, Nursing & Health, Nursing Professionals and Nursing Employment.
As Brittney pointed out in her roundup of the list, “Finding nurses to follow on Twitter can be a challenge. While a simple search may reveal tweeters who have ‘nurse,’ ‘RN,’ ‘BSN’ or another term associated with nursing in their profiles, it can be difficult to tell if that person actually tweets about nursing. And even more frustrating is to actually find tweeters that tweet routinely and about nursing related topics.”
Here are a few of her personal picks from the list:
- Terri Schmitt – @onlinenursing –Terri Schmitt
- Lisa – @asthehosptuRNs – Lisa
- Julianna Paradisi – @jparadisirn – Julianna Paradisi
- Joyce Harrell – @JoyceHarrellRN – Joyce Harrell RN
- Renee Thompson – @RTConnections – Renee Thompson
- Donna Petko – @DonnaPetko – Donna Petko, RN
- Andrew Lopez – @nursefriendly – Andrew Lopez RN
